TWINTASTIC

Sixth grade identical twins Alix and Jordyn couldn’t be more different. Jordyn likes fashion and art, while Alix loves reading and science. One day, while cleaning the attic, the twins come across a dusty old diary that once belonged to their great-grandma Rose. Next thing the twins know, the magical powers once possessed by Rose and her twin sister, Molly, have been passed on to them.

Suddenly, using only their thoughts, Alix and Jordyn can communicate with each other and move objects. They decide to use their secret powers to help save Ace, their parents’ struggling restaurant. Otherwise, their family could be out on the street. At the same time, they deal with the daily grind of middle school, first crushes and tennis lessons. Using their powers, they have a bake sale, enter a science contest, and tutor their friends. But will it be enough to rescue the restaurant and save their family from ruin?

Twintastic is a fiction book for tweens (ages 8-12).

What Inspired Me to Write TWINTASTIC

As an identical twin, I always dreamed of writing a book about twins, and I finally did with Twintastic, my fiction book for tweens and twins. Growing up, my twin sister, Amy, and I shared an incredible bond—we could sense each other’s thoughts, feel each other’s emotions, and, of course, get into plenty of mischief together. Middle school memories of mean girls, first crushes, and everyday adventures inspired the heart of my story. Adding magical powers to the twin protagonists felt like a great choice because, let’s face it, who doesn’t love a little magic?

The characters in Twintastic were also influenced by my cherished relationships. My grandma, Nona, was a wonderful role model, with her sharp mind and unwavering love for family—her spirit shines through one of the book’s key characters. My childhood friends, who remain close to this day, reminded me of the power of loyalty, laughter, and the support of true friendship. Even my love for crystals and candles, which bring positive energy and light to my life, found a home in the story.

Writing Twintastic was a joyful and sometimes all-consuming journey, filled with moments of inspiration, frustration, and discovery. Whether I was typing for hours, jotting ideas in the middle of the night, or pacing around the house searching for the perfect sentence, the process was unforgettable. I hope readers enjoy the adventure as much as I loved creating it.
